Faith, Hope, and Making Room for MORE!

There are currently 9 women living in a very tight space in their dorm which was constructed in the early 1980’s. It has never been renovated and only updated when completely necessary. This dorm has served us well in the past, but we are now at a point where our residents are developing more disabilities as they age and there are people on a waiting list that we have had to turn away due to no space.

Who are the residents of the girl's dorm? In just this one house we have one lady who was adopted from Haiti as a child, one adopted from China as a baby, and another adopted from Romania. One of the residents is crippled and cannot walk without crutches or a walker. One was passed around in foster homes as a young girl before coming to live with us full time. It's clear that God had a plan for them all to make their way to our home in the hills of Liberty, Kentucky. Each of them have unique disabilities, their own beautiful story, and help make up the family of the Galilean Home.

Here are a few reasons we are in need of a new facility: 1) We have outgrown the current house 2) We have a waiting list for new people 3) It will meet individual needs as residents get older 4) It is designed to be more universal, giving us opportunity to meet more special needs of different types 5) there will be bigger rooms and bathrooms that are more accommodating for those with physical disabilities 5) there will be a bigger kitchen and living area 6) there will be room for an assistant dorm mom which is long overdue 7) there is always a line to the bathroom because we currently share 1 bathroom for 9+ women.

As the residents get older, their physical disabilities become more severe. By moving them to this new area, it is our hope to provide them a safe and comfortable home to sustain them for years to come. Please join us in praying that the funds will be provided as we move forward in faith. Our hopes are that the ladies will be in their new home this fall.
